Muni

Muni Natarajan was a Hindu monastic for 37 years.  He entered the monastery at the age of 21 and became an initiated Swami at the age of 28. Over the years, he had the blessing of working closely with his guru, Satguru Subramuniyaswami, the founder of Kauai's Hindu Monastery and the recipient of the 2000 United Nations U Thant Peace Award.

During his monastic years, Muni served as a Writer, Editor and  Graphic Design Director for the international magazine, Hinduism Today.  He frequently shared his extensive training in Raja Yoga and Shum meditation with new monks and he was a teacher during Innersearch travel/study programs.  He  also travelled with his guru to India and around the world, leading kirtan, the Yoga of chant.

Muni left the monastery and “re-entered” the world in 2007.  Today, at the age of 59, his current creative pursuits are many.  In addition to sharing his knowledge of Yoga, Muni is an artist, musician, poet and has just completed his first book.

Muni's Raja Yoga classes offer a combination of Hatha yoga postures (asana), breathwork (pranayama) and preparation for meditation with attention to the unique needs of each student.
